In 1972 Bernard Conway established a company called B Conway Mechanical Handling ltd in Rochdale concentrating on manual and electrical fork lift trucks. In 1980 B Conway Tail Lifts Ltd was established steadily growing into one of the Northwest’s leading suppliers of moving tail lifts and mechanical handling products.

Over the years both companies have expanded there services to but not exclusive to Tail lift and Shutter door repairs, Tail lift servicing and weight testing, Loler Inspections including moving floors in trailers, sales of new parts and new/used Tail lifts. Repair, servicing and hire of Gas, Diesel or electric fork lift trucks, new and/or reconditioned hand pallet trucks, pedestrian forklift trucks, and counter balance trucks as well as being able to design and build fork lift trucks and tail lifts to the end users specifications.

In 1998 the day to day running of each company was passed to Bernard’s two sons Andrew and Michael who have rose to the challenge of an ever changing market and are expanding both companies further in there fields.

B Conway tail lifts are able to offer a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week break down cover on or off site any where in the country. All work undertaken by either company follows the government health and safety legistration set out by loler and puwer, this ensures all vehicles meet strict required regulation guaranteeing quality of workmanship.

2006 has been a very active year for both companies as a third member of the Conway family has joined the team. Lisa Conway LLB Hons.. Lisa, who has a degree in law mainly deals with the ever growing employment law, contractual law and human resources requirements of both companies. B Conway mechanical Handling has also been awarded one of only 5 dealerships in the UK with a major international manufacturing company called Pramac Group. Pramac Group is a worldwide organisation who manufactures Material Handling equipment. Also in 2006 both B Conway Tail Lifts and B Conway Mechanical Handling commenced trading under the collective name of The B Conway Group.

To date The B Conway Group have 12 mobile engineers, 4 service department controllers, 3 mobile part delivery personnel and two spare part controllers waiting to carter for your every need. The B Conway Group believe in being able to cope with the pressure cause by equipment malfunctions delivering speed, service, quality and help to each end user thus working together to reach there goals.
